Gingrich Finally Admits Romney Is The Frontrunner

Boy, you can't get anything past this guy.  He is almost as smart as everyone has says he is.  He finally has admitted that Romney is the front-runner and probably will win.

You don't have a brain that big for nothing!

George H. W. Bush Endorses Mitt Romney

Former President George H.W. Bush endorses Mitt Romney for POTUS. This week, Romney has shored up more support as Newt Gingrich scales back and Rick Santorum implodes.

Guest Blog: The Wild-Goose Chase Continues...

Do you know where the saying, “wild-goose chase,” originates? According to Wikipedia, it refers to a type of 16th century horse race where riders had to try to follow the erratic course of the lead horse, like wild geese have to follow their leader in formation. One of the earliest uses of the saying can be found in Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, scene 4 by the character Mercutio. These days “wild-goose chase” means a futile search, a fruitless errand; a useless and often lengthy pursuit. And we all have at one time or another been a part of one.

So, why do I bring this up?

Because, currently, there’s a small section of our conservative brethren on such a mission.

Who? The birthers, of course.

Now, before you start calling me a liberal. Or a non-constitutionalist. Or someone who drinks the MSM Kool-Aid. Hear me out.

I had almost forgotten about the entire birther movement until Sheriff Joe Arpaio decided to thrust himself into the conservation. Dang, we were SO CLOSE to this being out of the news! But, there Sheriff Joe was, holding a press conference saying his “cold case posse” found that “probable cause exists indicating that forgery and fraud may have been committed” in the release of Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate.

However, many media outlets noted Arpaio’s investigators never even requested any documents from Hawaii related to the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate. What kind of thorough investigation is that? Furthermore, Arpaio’s investigation turned up no new evidence that hadn’t been debunked before.

So, to me the entire thing looks like a wild-goose chase. We forget the Clinton Campaign first brought up the issue in 2008. And they got nowhere with it. Thus, it seems funny to me a bunch of so-called constitutionalists would pick up the torch that Hillary dropped.

But, this isn’t even really my main concern. Truthfully, there is nothing immoral, unethical, or illegal about wanting to prove where Barack Obama was born and if he is eligible to be President of the United States. The truth is that he sucks at it whether he is a citizen or not.

And I think that last sentence is really the point.

As a warrior out here who is writing, podcasting, and tweeting about the threats of liberalism, I wonder whether these birthers are more concerned about conservatism or are they more concerned about exposing an alleged conspiracy?

To use an analogy, I would compare it to D-Day. Most conservatives are storming the proverbial beaches, hoping to end the war as soon as possible. Taking media machine gun fire. Some get hit and die in the surf, others escape and establish a beachhead. All the while fighting against Obamacare, Fast & Furious and Eric Holder, Solyndra, etc., working their way toward the destruction of not just Obama but the true Hitler: Liberalism.

But, all the while, there is this other small group of conservatives who stay behind the frontlines out of the range of gunfire. Instead of picking up a gun to fight, they re-assure the rest of us they have a new, magical weapon that will win the war. It removes Obama and everything, don’t ya know! They tell us to be patient and draw the fire from liberals because some time in the future--the birthers can’t be sure when--the weapon will work perfectly.

However, there’s an election in November and there’s absolutely no way these birthers will prove the conspiracy--whether it exists or not--by that time. In fact, sometimes I get the idea they’d love for Obama to get re-elected then prove he was born in Kenya just so they could see him leave the White House disgraced in Marine One.

And I think that’s where these birthers go wrong: They forget who the enemy is. Believe it or not, Obama isn’t the enemy. He is just the most recent vessel for the enemy.

Liberalism is the enemy. And proving whether a birth certificate is real or not doesn’t stop Liberalism’s march. There’ll be someone after Obama. And then someone after that. And someone after that.

Proving Obama is not eligible to be President doesn’t defeat liberalism, period.

But, I think what has happened here is what happens so often with conspiracy theorists: Eventually, proving a point becomes more about protecting one’s ego than seeing the big picture. As proof, the birthers now have latched onto the testimony of a postman in Chicago who claims Obama told him he’d be President as early as 1989. So, it’s not enough that Obama might not be eligible to be President. Now, there’s a conspiracy that started as early as 1989 to get him elected! I ask: Where does this wild-goose chase end?

I believe if these birthers had used all these man-hours involved in this paper chase to build a stronger network to defeat liberalism, Obama--citizen or not--wouldn’t have a chance to win in November. Instead, the birthers continue to suck the credibility out of conservatism by insisting that eventually--someday, one day, in the near future--the conspiracy will be exposed.

I doubt it. And that’s why it’s called a wild-goose CHASE, not a wild-goose CAUGHT.

Mitt Romney was on Jay Leno

Great appearance by Mitt Romney on Jay Leno last night.  For the full episode, go here.

Marco Rubio Endorses Mitt Romney!

Finally!  Marco Rubio has endorsed Mitt Romney for president.  This should help cement Romney's lead and add pressure for Gingrich (if not Santorum) to drop out.  Rubio is one of the most popular leaders in the Republican Party and is very well respected across the country.  He is also a strong candidate for Vice President.

Call to Action: I am a Conservative Woman, and I Will NOT be Ignored

I began writing this article several times, but each time I had to delete what I had written and wait a little longer until I had calmed down.  Rather than lowering myself to Pennsylvania State Representative Babette Josephs' level and begin name calling, and attacks on other women who simply believe differently than I, I retreated for a moment to think best about how to phrase my words.  Perhaps Babette Josephs should do the same.

For the full story, read here.  But basically, Ms Josephs stated that the women sponsoring a bill (in her state of Pennsylvania) that required mandatory ultrasounds prior to abortions “do what the men tell them … They must believe that they are not capable of making their own health care choices, but they are capable of voting on bills that control all of our behavior … I don’t understand it … I don’t believe they’re really women … I believe they’re men with breasts.”

I am a conservative woman, and I am quite capable of thinking for myself.  That is WHY I believe that mandatory ultrasounds aren't a bad idea.  Women have the RIGHT to know what's happening inside their body and the RIGHT to know what the procedure will entail.  Women who want to hide the details of the procedure and ignore that the "clump of cells" is forming a human are being purposefully naive and it's embarrassing and shameful.

Ms Josephs- shame on you for calling intelligent women across the nation 'men with breasts' and shame on you for saying those same women are incapable of thinking for themselves.  I find it disgusting that a woman who is in your position can't respect the opinions of another person.

Conservative women- don't allow yourself to be pigeon holed by a liberal who is so narrow minded, she can't possibly understand why a woman might care about the life brewing inside of her.  Don't be ashamed of who you are.  And don't settle for these outrageous and unladylike attacks against you.  I have emailed Ms Josephs my opinion and invited her to issue an apology, I encourage you to do the same.  Her email is RepJosephs@pahouse.net.

Obamacare: Day Two

If you're keeping tabs on the Supreme Court oral arguments, a good summary can be found here and the full transcript can be found here.

Obama Does More to Increase Racial Tensions

I'm not sure how many of our readers have been following the Trayvon Martin case.  In the most recent days, hearing about racism and hoodies has been difficult to avoid.  Trayvon Marton was killed by George Zimmerman.  Others who have been following the case more closely could speak more eloquently on the topic than I could, but many insist it was racially motivated.

Barack Obama, sharing his infinite wisdom in knowing how to micromanage and put his nose into places that 1) he doesn't belong and 2) are racially motivated, shared a comment about the death of Trayvon Martin.

While the death of any teenager is tragic, what gets me is Obama's seemingly thoughtlessness on the many other tragedies that happen nationwide every day.  In fact, I think Hack Wilson says it best when he asked, Where was Obama when....

Barack Obama, you represent ALL Americans, not just ones you feel like picking and choosing on the days you leave the golf course or vacation and decide to show up for work.

Obama Promises Russia "More Flexibility"

"A senior House Republican on Monday accused President Obama of going back on promises he would not weaken U.S. missile defenses through negotiations with Russia after the president was overheard promising more concessions after his reelection.

Rep. Michael R. Turner (R., Ohio), chairman of the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces, sought an explanation for the overheard comments made by the president Monday in a discussion in Seoul with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev.
Obama told the outgoing Russian president that “this is my last election and after my election I’ll have more flexibility” regarding contentious missile defense talks with Moscow that have been underway for the past three years.
“Congress has made exquisitely clear to your administration and to other nations that it will block all attempts to weaken U.S. missile defense,” Turner stated in the letter. “As the chairman of the strategic forces subcommittee, which authorizes U.S. missile defense and nuclear weapons policy, I want to make perfectly clear that my colleagues and I will not allow any attempts to trade missile defense of the United States to Russia or any other country.”" (source)
Apparently Medvedev's reply was, "I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir [Putin]."
Newt Gingrich gave an interesting reply, "What other countries has he had this conversation with? Who else has he said to the Iranians, to the North Koreans, a variety of places, you know, give me a little time, give me some space, let me get reelected and then I'll sell out." Read more: http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2012/03/27/romney-gingrich-react-obamas-hot-mic-comment/#ixzz1qKkDW12s

Obama Lacks Consistency and Integrity

Shockingly, I haven't seen much of this in the media, but our hopeful one term president Barack Obama told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, "This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility."

Don't we deserve and have a right to a President who will be consistent?  Don't we have the right to a President that will act by what the situation merits and not by an election?  Do we not have the right to a President that will put the future of the country above his own selfish desires?  And if nothing else, don't we have the right to a President who will be smart enough to not admit such selfishness to leaders of foreign countries and in the presence of a microphone?

Obamacare: Day One in the Supreme Court

For those of you following the rare 2 hours per day of Supreme Court arguments, today's arguments focused on basically, whether the law can be challenged now, or if it need be challenged in 2015, when the law goes into effect.  A great summary can be found here.  If you're talented in the realm of dissecting legal mumbo jumbo, the full transcript can be found here.

Santorum Snaps Under Pressure - Endorses Obama Over Romney!

Rick Santorum appears to becoming more and more desperate in his attacks against Mitt Romney. Earlier in the week, Santorum went after capitalism and free market enterprise, an attack made famous by Newt Gingrich when he was lagging in the polls. He has been carrying around an Etch A Sketch and relating it to Romney's policies. Today, Santorum sunk to a new low when he alluded to endorsing Obama over Romney.

“You win by giving people a choice,” Santorum said during a campaign stop in Texas. “You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who’s just going to be a little different than the person in there.”
Santorum added: “If they’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future.” (Source)
Romney responded by expressing disappointment in Santorum's statement and saying,
“This election is more important than any one person. It is about the future of America. Any of the Republicans running would be better than President Obama and his record of failure.”

Newt Gingrich later tweeted that Santorum was "dead wrong" and reminded his followers that ANY of the candidates in the race right now would do better than Obama.

Statements like this from Santorum have Republicans questioning not only his judgement but also his ability to lead. This may be the final nail in his campaign coffin.

Feminists vs. Perry

Here is my article from Examiner.com:

Rick Perry has made some enemies in Texas.  Thousands of comments have been posted to Perry's Facebook page by pro-choice women asking him uncomfortable questions about their menstrual cycle.  This is to protest Texas’s new pro-life law that requires all women seeking an abortion to receive a sonogram and then wait 24 hours before actually having the abortion.
Here is an example of a post:  “My period has been very sporadic.  It used to come like clockwork, once per month, but I’ve skipped the last few months.  I am thinking of taking birth control pills to regulate it.  What kind do you recommend?  Do you have any information to share about the low hormone kind?”
Obviously, this woman is not asking for advice as much as sarcastically posing a question to Perry implying that he is asserting he knows more about her health care than she does.  That is a common reaction some women have had who oppose the new Texas law.
It may be controversial for some, but the new law respects the lives of the unborn who deserve to be given some thought before the women who conceived them make the decision to pull them out of the womb, thus ending their lives before they've taken a single breath.  The fact that this new law is considered controversial is itself a quandry.  However, it has strengthened my appreciation for the Governor and all those who worked to get this law passed.
As for Perry’s Facebook page, not to worry, conservative women are fighting back.  Here is one such response: “Most real women are ashamed of most of you.  Ashamed of the classless way you all choose to make your protest… Do you really believe anybody takes any of you seriously?  Anger is fine, protest if you want, but please stop making women look ignorant and classless.”
I quite agree.

New Ad Shows Obama's Attack On Women

New add from the RNC:

Romney Wins Illinois

Mitt Romney has a projected win in Illinois today.  This win helps to cement his lead ahead of the second place winner, Rick Santorum.  The night is still early, but so far, Gingrich is pretty far behind.  He will be in third or fourth place.  Many are speculating whether or not he can remain in the race much longer as it was reported today that his campaign is spending more than it is taking in.

Gingrich needs to drop out as he has absolutely no chance in winning the nomination.  Rick Santorum is still well-funded and has won recent states, so he has earned the right to stay in the race.  However, given the remaining primaries and Romney's likelihood to win big states like New Jersey and California, he also cannot win the nomination.  CNN just announced that Santorum would have to win over 70% of the remaining delegates to win.  This simply will no happen, but Santorum is likely to keep going as long as he has money.

Santorum, Don't Take Gingrich's Strategy

Rick Santorum is taking Gingrich's bait and attacking capitalism and Romney's financial success. Santorum was quoted as saying:
"I heard Governor Romney here called me an economic lightweight because I wasn’t a Wall Street financier like he was. Do you really believe this country wants to elect a Wall Street financier as the president of the United States? Do you think that’s the experience that we need? Someone who’s going to take and look after as he did his friends on Wall Street and bail them out at the expense of Main Street America." (click here for source)
This is a desperate attempt to demonize Romney and make Americans think that Romney cannot help America because he is not like them. Santorum contends Romney is not like others because he has had financial success. This is Santorum's underlying message. Santorum has so much good he can stand on, he does not need to shrink to Gingrich's level and assault capitalism and success. That is taking the Occupy line...we have enough of that. We need Santorum to stand on principle. Frankly, if ever there was a time the hire a financial wizard, now would be the time. Romney's success is an asset not a liability.

Eric Holder Misunderstands Gun, Violence Connection

One of the lessons I learned from Andrew Breitbart when I heard him speak in Mesquite in 2010 was that the left is organized. There is a strategy and their moves are not happenstance, especially in the media. More evidence of this comes out as Breitbart.com has uncovered video of Attorney General Eric Holder speaking about the need to "brainwash" Americans against guns.

What is disconcerting to me about this video is that the left misunderstands the role of guns - Holder essentially says guns equals violence. And because of this equation, Holder discusses all the resources he was putting towards "brainwashing" people. When a problem is misdiagnosed, no matter how much money is thrown at it, the problem will not resolve. Here, Holder is focusing on "brainwashing" people about the evil of guns where for most inner city youth (who I think Holder was targeting here), guns are seen as a solution. Violence is the problem. Guns do not equal violence, they can be used as a weapon in a violent act. When this is misunderstood, the target (and responsibility) is placed on guns instead of on people. Media and government that focus on guns remove personal responsibility for acting civilly, regardless of the weapon of choice.

Memo To Santorum: I'm Not Voting For You And I'm A Social Conservative

I just want to be clear that I am, in fact, a social conservative.  It is possible to be a social conservative and a supporter for Romney at the same time.  At the core of this race, I believe, is the need for a strong executive who has the ability to move forward legislation that will save this country. And, I don't believe that Santorum has the experience or the economic plan to do so. He hasn't produced a coherent financial plan like Romney has.  He simply doesn't have the chops.

Listening to some, one would think that by not supporting Santorum, I must be against the entire socially conservative tradition.  This is not true. Liking a guy, the way I like Santorum, and thinking that he has a lot of good things to say is not enough for him to get my vote to be the next President.  I need someone who has actually managed something before, someone who has had to pull together varying groups of people to work through issues, someone who has had to make tough, executive decisions.

For that reason, Romney is the guy.

Ann Romney Reaches Out To Female Voters

Ann Romney reaches out to female voters as the left continue their attack on women.

"Speaking to about 200 people at a pancake breakfast in Moline, Ann Romney said she was “really upset” with Obama’s policies and added, “I love it that women are upset, too, that women are talking about the economy.”
“Women are talking about jobs, women are talking about deficit spending,” she continued. “Thank you, women. We need you. We all need you in November, too. We have to remember why we’re upset and what we’ve got to do to fix things.”
In his remarks, Mitt Romney echoed his wife's sentiments, describing the particular challenges that mothers he has met on the campaign trail have described to him.
“You’ve got moms that are driving their kids to school and practice after school and other appointments and wonder how they can afford putting gasoline in the car, at the same time putting food on the table night after night. The American people are struggling,” he said." (click here for link)
Ann Romney has shown herself to be a woman of class. She reminds me a lot of Laura Bush. Smart, supportive, honest.

Mitt Romney Triumphantly Wins Puerto Rico

Mitt Romney seems to have the Latino edge as he cleanly swept the Puerto Rico Primary today.
"At 8:35 p.m. ET, with about 23% of total ballots accounted for, the former Massachusetts governor had a substantial lead with more than 25,000 votes -- or 83% of the vote.
Rick Santorum was a distant second, at 8% with slightly more than 2,500 votes.
The other two candidates, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Rep. Ron Paul, were further behind with 2% and 1% of the vote, respectively." (click here for source)
Part of Romney's popularity probably has something to do with the controversy Santorum stirred up when he said that for Puerto Rico to become a state, they needed to accept English as the official language. Romney, instead, spoke of the rich history

CPAC Swag!

We were so lucky to get some awesome CPAC swag when we attended this year.  Here are two of my favorite bumper stickers:

Blame Obama for High Gas Prices

I thought this was a great article with a simple explanation of how Obama is artificially inflating gas prices and why.

What's even more scary is that after Obama placed a moratorium on drilling, a judge found that the moratorium was unconstitutional, the Obama Administration placed a second ban, identical to the first, and the judge found them in contempt of court.  This is a president that doesn't respect the law, the court process, or the people.  And we have a media who doesn't report on it or hold him accountable.

The Race Card: Nancy Hurlbert Edition

So let me get this straight, she breaks the law, people want her to be accountable for it, but those people are racist.

Nancy Hurlbert, chairwoman of the Lake County Democratic Party received a gift of a flag with Obama's image in the stars portion of the stars and stripes and she placed it above a Florida county's Democratic headquarters.

The practice is in violation of Florida state law, as well as the federal flag code. Hurlbert would not even agree to not flying the flag in the future.
"It's absolutely disrespectful," Jim Bradford, a 71-year-old veteran who participated in the Bay of Pigs Invasion told FoxNews.com. "It's totally ridiculous. To put somebody's picture there, to me, it's a disgrace to do that."
Bradford, an organizer with the Veterans Memorial at Fountain Park in Leesburg, Fla., snapped photos of the flag and distributed them to fellow veterans and friends. By late afternoon, he and several other veterans delivered a copy of the federal flag code to Nancy Hurlbert, chairwoman of the Lake County Democratic Party.

Hurlbert, being less concerned about her illegal actions, responded by saying, "It leads me to believe that it's not about the flag," she told FoxNews.com. "Certain elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president."

I don't understand the logic of a woman who is breaking the law and feels like she has any ground to stand on when it comes to defending herself.

Nancy Hurlbert, you should be ashamed of yourself, for breaking the law and trying to get away with it by claiming other people are racist.  Absolutely disgraceful.

Hollywood Does Not Understand The Contraception Debate At All

I keep thinking that at some point, the women of the world will realize the absurdity of their position that their neighbors should pay for the consequences of them having sex, meaning contraception.  If they would just think about it for a minute, they would see that no one is saying that you can't use contraception.  I don't care one iota what you decide to do in your bedroom.  I don't want to pay for it, though.  Why is that so hard to understand?

And, a religious organization that does have an opinion about the use of contraception based on a deeply-held belief-system has every right to run their organizations in accordance with that belief.  That is who we are in this country.  We have freedoms given to us by God (not by man, not by the government, not by liberals) to act according to our beliefs.  The religious history in this country is a rich and meaningful one, based on these freedoms for which we were founded!

So, in this clip, we have Rosie O'Donnell and Angelica Houston talking in amazement about what they see as an attack against women's "reproductive rights."  They don't get it.

Get it here.

Yep, Gingrich Is Only Running To Make Sure Romney Doesn't Win

I know that there are lots of Gingrich fans out there.  And, for myself, I do like the guy.  He would be a great consultant to the President.  However, I know he has no chance of winning the nomination. The thing that gets me is that I know that he knows that he has no chance of getting the nomination.  He simply doesn't want Romney to get it.  Let's face it, Gingrich is still mad about Iowa.  He was in the lead, Romney and his well-oiled machine came in and went after him, and he ended up with a terrible finish in the state.

Gingrich really should be honored that Romney thought so highly of him to put so many resources into taking him down.  But Gingrich, emotional guy that he is, just can't get over it.  He just can't.  He now hates Romney with a passion and is strategically working to take the nomination from him.  He wants anyone else, as long as Romney doesn't get it.

Gingrich is a smart guy, he has done the math, and he knows that he will never get it.  He also knows that by staying in the race, he is taking delegates that would go to Romney.

Here is an article in the Boston Herald asserting this as well:

Mormon Tabernacle Choir Sings To Passengers

A good way to start a Friday:

Don't Be Fooled, Obama Wants High Gas Prices

From the Daily Caller:

Beginning in 2008, then-Candidate Obama led a charge designed to increase the cost of nearly every kind of energy Americans currently consume. At the time, people chose to ignore his stated goal of limiting consumption, but the quotes are now coming home to roost. “Under my cap and trade plan,” Obama said, “electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket.” He even threatened to bankrupt anyone stupid enough to build a coal plant, saying that “if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can — it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”
Where oil is concerned, the president has an even longer, equally dismal record. In 2008, noted physicist and vocal global warming advocate Steven Chu told The New York Times, “Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” His goal was to increase the cost slowly, over the course of 15 years. Parity with the Europeans would have Americans paying between $8 and $10 a gallon. Shortly after his New York Times interview, Chu was appointed U.S. energy secretary and the administration started implementing his recommendations.
Since then, Obama has kept his boot on the throat of the oil industry in every possible way. After taking office, the president drastically slowed the rate at which deepwater drilling permits were issued, forcing oil rigs and the jobs they create to abandon the Gulf of Mexico. Later, using the BP disaster to justify his actions, the president imposed a complete moratorium on such permits — a ban the Louisiana courts eventually found to be illegal. Obama’s administration refused to comply with the court ruling, was found in contempt and was eventually forced to begin issuing permits again. Still, the administration has done so at a diminished rate, and has imposed a massive swath of new regulation.

"Debating A Liberal"

Doesn't it really feel like this is how it is??

Michelle Malkin Calls Out The Left's Assault On Women

What a wonderful article by Michelle Malkin @ Townhall. She provides an accurate narrative of how the left-winged media has demonized and vilified Conservative women. Where are the outraged feminists standing up for these women??:

"I'm sorry Rush Limbaugh called 30-year-old Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a "slut." She's really just another professional femme-a-gogue helping to manufacture a false narrative about the GOP "war on women." I'm sorry the civility police now have an opening to demonize the entire right based on one radio comment -- because it's the progressive left in this country that has viciously and systematically slimed female conservatives for their beliefs.
We have the well-worn battle scars to prove it. And no, we don't need coddling phone calls from the pandering president of the United States to convince us to stand up and fight.
At his first press conference of the year on Tuesday, the Nation's Concern Troll explained that he phoned Fluke to send a message to his daughters and all women that they shouldn't be "attacked or called horrible names because they are being good citizens." After inserting himself into the fray and dragging Sasha and Malia into the debate, Obama then told a reporter he "didn't want to get into the business of arbitrating" language and civility. Too late, pal.
The fact is, "slut" is one of the nicer things I've been called over 20 years of public life. In college during the late 1980s, it was "race traitor," "coconut" (brown on the outside white on the inside) and "white man's puppet." After my first book, "Invasion," came out in 2001, it was "immigrant-hater," the "Radical Right's Asian Pitbull," "Tokyo Rose" and "Aunt Tomasina." In my third book, 2005's "Unhinged," I published entire chapters of hate mail rife with degrading, unprintable sexual epithets and mockery of my Filipino heritage.
If I had a dollar for every time libs have called me a "Manila whore" and "Subic Bay bar girl," I'd be able to pay for a ticket to a Hollywood-for-Obama fundraiser.
Self-serving opponents argue that such attacks do not represent "respectable," "mainstream" liberal opinion about their conservative female counterparts. But it was feminist godmother Gloria Steinem who called Texas Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison a "female impersonator." It was NOW leader Patricia Ireland who commanded her flock to only vote for "authentic" female political candidates. It was Al Gore consultant Naomi Wolf who accused the late Jeane Kirkpatrick of being "uninflected by the experiences of the female body."
It was Matt Taibbi, now of Rolling Stone magazine, who mocked my early championing of the tea party movement by jibing: "Now when I read her stuff, I imagine her narrating her text, book-on-tape style, with a big, hairy set of (redacted) in her mouth. It vastly improves her prose."
It was Keith Olbermann, then at MSNBC and now at Al Gore's Current TV, who wrote on Twitter that columnist S.E. Cupp was "a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does" and who called me a "mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it." He stands by those remarks. Olbermann has been a special guest at the White House.
Some of us have not forgotten when liberal Wisconsin radio host John "Sly" Sylvester outrageously accused GOP Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch of performing "fellatio on all the talk-show hosts in Milwaukee" and sneered that she had "pulled a train" (a crude phrase for gang sex). (Earlier, he called former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice a "black trophy" and "Aunt Jemima.")
Or when MSNBC misogynist Ed Schultz called talk show host Laura Ingraham a "talk slut" for criticizing Obama's petty beer summit. Or when Playboy published a list of the top 10 conservative women who deserved to be "hate-f**ked." The article, which was promoted by Anne Schroeder Mullins at Politico.com, included Ingraham, "The View's" Elisabeth Hasselbeck, former Bush spokeswoman Dana Perino, GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann and others. Yours truly topped the list with the following description: a "highly f**kable Filipina" and "a regular on Fox News, where her tight body and get-off-my-lawn stare just scream, 'Do me!'"
And then there's the left's war on Sarah Palin, which would require an entire national forest of trees to publish.
A reporter asked Obama to comment on examples of liberal hate speech at Tuesday's press conference. He whiffed, of course. This is, after all, the brave leader who sat on his hands while his street thugs attacked tea party mothers and grandmothers as "Koch whores" during the fight over union reform in Wisconsin. (As I reported last week, his re-election campaign is now targeting the Koch brothers' private foundation donors in a parallel effort to chill conservative speech and activism.) He's leading by example.
So no, we won't get any phone calls from Mr. Civility. Acknowledging the war on conservative women would obliterate The Narrative. Enjoy the silence."

Obama Admits Romney Would Win??

From The Washington Examiner:
"President Obama's campaign staff made the curious decision to build a fundraising message around their candidate's apparent weakness, warning supporters that Mitt Romney would beat Obama if the election were held today.
"Friend," Obama campaign manager Jim Messina wrote today, "If the general election were held today, President Obama would lose to Mitt Romney -- according to the latest poll from Washington Post-ABC News. Now, many other polls put the President on top, but all point to the same reality: We're looking at a race that will be tighter than you think," Messina warned."

Conservative Women Should Speak Out Against NOW

This week has been maddening as I've watched the absolute hypocracy on the Left.  Here is my article from Examiner.com:

Over the past couple of weeks with the Rush Limbaugh controversy, America’s elite feminists again have shown their true colors by demanding that he be taken off of the air.  Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem, and Robin Morgan wrote an opinion piece for CNN asserting that Limbaugh is not promoting the public interest, and the FCC should remove him from the radio.
These so-called champions of women even went so far as to say, “This is not political.”  Yeah, right.  So, I want to make emphatically clear that these supposed defenders of women do not represent me, a conservative woman.
Historically, feminism had a place in America.  There was a time when women couldn’t vote or own land, there was a time when women were strongly discriminated against in the workplace.  Thanks to some strong, early feminists, women today do not face these issues.
However, the modern feminism movement has taken these noble ideals and twisted them into a liberal, far-Left crusade that ostracizes those women who do not agree with them politically.  Women who believe in conservative principles, who oppose abortion, and who stand up for families are ignored or even scorned by feminists.  When Sarah Palin is ridiculed in the most sexist fashion, they look the other way.  When liberal men demean, insult, and otherwise verbally abuse women with their public commentary, feminists are silent.  However, when a conservative commentator calls a liberal woman a name, they express public outrage.  Then they have the audacity to say it isn’t political.
Going to the website for NOW (the National Organization for Women), the top story accuses the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops of “playing a major role in the right-wing war on women.”  Further down on the page, it calls for Clear Channel to drop Rush Limbaugh.  There is nothing about marriage or family or faith, values that many women hold dear.  The so-called important issues avowed by NOW are nothing more than politically-charged, hate-filled, hypocritical demands that do nothing to promote women, only to advance ultra-liberal causes.
Conservative women should be disgusted with this modern movement and should speak out against it.  I, for one, want nothing to do with it.

Santorum Sweeps Alabama and Mississippi

Santorum wins a hard-fought battles in Alabama and Mississippi. Both states saw tight finishes with Gingrich and Romney close behind. It was unknown who would win going into today's races with all three candidates working hard to be on top.  However, Santorum was able to squeak ahead and win both states, a very important accomplishment given his need for delegates.

Hawaii is also voting today and it is expected to go to Romney.  However, the delegate count in Hawaii is less than half that of each Alabama and Mississippi.

Tonight is certainly not a great night for Romney and camp as he came into today needing to prove that he can win southern states.  He was not able to do that.  Gingrich also had a bad night, despite how he is spinning it.  He has won only two states total and by losing these two, is continuing to prove that he cannot gain momentum.

The next caucus is in Missouri on the 17th.  This is a "beauty contest" meaning that delegates are not actually awarded, but it will be an important contest.

Andrew Breitbart Schools Snarky Blogger

I miss Andrew. In reviewing media from CPAC, I came across this interchange from the Citizens United preview of Occupy Unmasked. Here, young Andrew Metcalf, a Democrat blogger, asks questions about the release of the film. His questions were not captured here, but you can gauge their meaning by the responses given. The last 30 seconds is the best.

Obama's Numbers Go Down

From Breitbart.com:
"A trio of polls released yesterday shows the harsh reality from which the embattled President Obama and the media hoped to deflect by fabricating a "War on Women."
The newest Washington Post/ABC poll shows that the majority of Americans strongly disapprove of the way in which the President is handling a number of issues, chief among them the economy and gas prices. According to the March 10th, 2012 poll released yesterday a net 50% of those surveyed disapprove of how Obama is handling the job of president with 39% "strongly disapproving" and only 28% "strongly approving." This is up from the net 46% taken on February 4th of the same year.
On the economy, 50% "strongly disapprove" whereas only 20% "strongly approve" of the President's management. His negatives greatly outweigh his positives on everything from his handling of Iran, the budget deficit, Afghanistan, and on "the situation with gas prices" where 52% "strongly disapprove" of his job performance. It represents an increasing trend." (click here for source)
Sounds like this country is ready for a change.

Hawaii Celebrates First Republican Caucus

Hawaiians have a history opportunity to vote in their first ever GOP caucus today.
"Voters in Hawaii's upcoming Republican presidential caucus have found themselves in an unusual position: They're relevant.
The change reflects a GOP effort to create enthusiasm for the party in a state where conservatives face long odds in November.
Hawaii is home turf for President Obama and the Democratic Party. But for the first time, everyday Republican voters in the Aloha State will have a say in their party's presidential nomination process." (source)
Congrats Hawaii!! Can't wait to hear your voice!

Residents of Alabama and Mississippi are also voting.

Video: Why I'm A Conservative Republican

Great video.

These are color-blind issues, but the Left doesn't get it. They want to make this about race and inequality instead of hope and opportunity.

Romney Defends Religious Freedom

Reason 503 why I love Romney. Here is a clip of him at the Arizona GOP debate fighting for religious freedom. Note Santorum nodding along. Both are great men. Also notice how Romney points out the White House/media conspiracy connection when media asked a question only to have Obama roll out legislation later.

The Lesson In The Limbaugh Incident: Liberals Are Even Worse Than We Thought

The audacity of the liberal Left, including the "feminists" who are calling for Limbaugh to be removed from the air (I put 'feminists' in quotes, because real feminists would be fighting for ALL women, not just liberal women, so they have no right calling themselves champions of women).  Unbelievable.  What kind of a country do we live in that people would actually say that someone who disagrees with them should not be allowed to express those beliefs?  Limbaugh said what he said, which is by far not the worst thing women have ever been called and in fact, is nowhere near the type of trash that comes out of the mouths of hypocritical Left.  And, yet the likes of Gloria Steinam and Jane Fonda want the FCC to remove Limbaugh from the air.

Such hypocrites.

I think the real lesson here is that the Liberal elites are more condescending, more mean, more disdainful, more snobby, more disparaging, and more aggressive than we even knew.  All of those years that they were the political minority, they had to hold back, they had to try to at least pretend to represent mainstream America because they wanted to get back in power.  Now that they have a liberal in the White House who is spreading the gospel of class warfare in the name of misguided equality, they have come out of the woodwork with a snooty confidence that they've never had before.  They know that the media is behind them more overtly than ever before.  They know that the President of the United States will use his vast influence to support their cause with no concern for the rights afforded him in the Constitution.

So, they throw out these edicts that people who disagree with them should be silenced.  While they can say whatever they want, those who speak out against them must be censored.  Where will this end?  Will this end?  The battle for a free and independent media has already been lost, what we are trying to hold on to here is a piece of free speech on radio and the Internet.  These are the last hope for conservatives.  And, the Left is going after that. They won't rest until they have control of all speech.

The funny thing is I used to actually think that people who said things like I am saying were conspiracy theorists.  Well, guess what? It is no longer a theory.

Romney Is Victim Of Media Bias

It has been really interesting watching the reporting of this weekend's Republican Caucuses. Even though Mitt Romney won three caucuses and more delegates than Rick Santorum, from the news reporting, a reader would have thought Santorum swept the event. Both FoxNews and CNN had large pictures of Santorum with articles focused primarily on his win and titles that clearly show bias. No large picture of Romney, even though he is the front runner. Instead the focus was Santorum's win.

This isn't the first time the media struggled to positively report on Romney's accomplishments. The media appears to take a "yes, but" approach with Romney. A recent example is from the CNN article that covered this weekend's causes. "Romney substantially increased his delegate lead on Super Tuesday but failed by most accounts to deliver a knockout blow." As you watch the news or read articles about Romney over the next few weeks, pay attention to this. It is their way of reporting while still devaluing Romney's successes.

The real question is why. What is motivating the media, which includes outlets such as CNN, and FoxNews, to constantly minimize Romney's successes? Are they taking their cue from the GOP base or is it the other way around? My theory is Fox News prefers Santorum and CNN (and other left-wing sources) find Santorum as easier prey. Whatever the motivation, the results seem to be the same - inaccurate reporting of Romney's campaign and clear bias for Santorum.

Romney And Santorum Do Well This Weekend

Over the weekend, Guam, Kansas, Northern Marina Island, and Virgin Islands had their Republican caucuses and both Romney and Santorum came off winners. Santorum took Kansas and Romney won every other one. Some think this race is all but won.

"Mitt Romney has all but won the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, top senator Lindsey Graham said Sunday, agreeing with the candidate that "mathematically, this thing is about over."
Romney has won 14 of 25 state-by-state votes that decide whichRepublican candidate takes on President Barack Obama in November, compared to eight wins for Rick Santorum and just two for former House speaker Newt Gingrich.
These victories have given Romney almost 40 percent of the 1,144 delegates needed to secure the nomination. He has 446 delegates, Santorum 199 and Gingrich 117, according to authoritative poll aggregator RealClearPolitics.
"Mathematically, Rick would have to win 75 percent of what remains," Graham, a senior Republican who serves on various Senate committees, told ABC's "This Week" program.
"He's done an outstanding job, Rick has, of starting with almost nothing and being a real contender, and Newt's come back from the dead two or three times," Graham said. "But mathematically, this thing is about over, but emotionally it's not."" (click here for link.)

Hannity Plays Obama College Video Published On Breitbart.com

From Breitbart.com

My most recent article from Examiner.com:

The main frustration of the GOP in the last election, other than losing, was that the media decided to not vet the up-and-coming Barack Obama who was running for president. Today, Breitbart.com released videos as promised by the late Andrew Breitbart which show President Obama while he was a student at Harvard Law School.

The video shows that Obama was clearly a talented speaker and strong activist in his college days. It also shows the editing and cover-up done by the Obama’s handlers to show the close relationship between then-student Obama and controversial Professor Derrick Bell. A hug between Obama and Bell was edited out in previous showings of the video. Professor Charles Ogletree, mentor to Obama, openly admitted that "we did this throughout the 2008 campaign."

Who is Derrick Bell? He was an activist lawyer and law professor who played an active role in the Civil Rights movement. Of all of the good that came from the Civil Rights movement, Derrick Bell was on the radical side of it. His school of thought introduced the “critical race theory” which is based on the belief that white supremacy is institutionalized in U.S. law, therefore perpetuating racism over time. This theory has been widely criticized as radical.

Why is this video important? This is further proof of the great lengths that were taken in the 2008 election to make candidate Obama appear to be a mainstream politician. Videos were edited; stories were purposefully ignored. Every effort was made to downplay what can by all accounts be radical, activist associations. The editors of Breitbart.com say that there is much more to be released.

Utah Takes On The Federal Government

In a big push for states' rights, Utah is telling the federal government it wants its land back.

"Lawmakers who want to seize control of federal lands are pushing a legal battle they insist is winnable despite multiple warnings their effort is highly unconstitutional and almost sure to fail in court.

Utah is poised to become the first state to pass a package of bills that demand the federal government relinquish claims to huge sections of public land. A proposal that advanced Wednesday demands that by 2014 the federal government cede control of nearly 30 million acres -- nearly 50 percent of the entire state....

Driving the legislative frustration is an ongoing anger over missed opportunities to develop and mine lands managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service.

There is also concern that access to state-owned or private lands will be increasingly restricted by Congress or even with the stroke of a president's pen, which happened in 1996 when President Bill Clinton created the 1.9-million-acre Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in southern Utah.

"In our area, we feel that we have federal land management policies that ignore the needs of state, county or local residents," said Dirk Clayson, a commissioner in rural Kane County, Utah, which has less than 10 percent privately-owned land. "Even well-meant efforts from federal officials seem to get tied up with policy decisions ... that are not responsive to local needs...."

But the fight is worth it for many Western lawmakers because they see the potential for millions of dollars in revenue from taxes, development rights or even the sale of lands."

One wonders if part of what is motivating Utahns is a lack of faith in the federal government to make good choices with the land. After all, it's been over 10 years since the land was taken for the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
