This weekend I had the pleasure of attending a Senatorial District Convention here in the great state of Texas. Here in Texas, we have several conventions that lead to the GOP National Convention - precinct, senatorial, state, then national.
What a neat experience! I feel so grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the process. I was able to meet with other voters, discuss concerns and hopes for this country, meet candidates for election, and vote on resolutions. There were a couple of themes that seemed to emerge at the convention including pride in America and our freedoms, grave concern over Obama and the direction he is taking our country, and confidence in our ability to turn things around IF we elect a conservative senate and REPLACE Obama. We started with a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance and ended with "God Bless America."
I am so excited for the state convention and looking forward to the rest of this voting process. This is the election of our lives...let's make it count!
