Obamacare Ruled Unconstitutional!!

In a landmark ruling, President Obama's health care reform was ruled unconstitutional.

"U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson ruled that the reform law's so-called individual mandate went too far in requiring that Americans start buying health insurance in 2014 or pay a penalty.

Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire act must be declared void," he wrote, "This has been a difficult decision to reach and I am aware that it will have indeterminable implications."

Focus on Constitution

This is great to see - Congress should be well-versed on the Constitution of the United States and should be regularly referring to it as a part of their ongoing agenda.  Lawmakers who do not understand the power granted them and more importantly the powers not granted them in the Constitution will tend to overstep these powers.  This is exactly what liberals do - they push an agenda expanding government far beyond any reasonably intended allowance of power envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

This greatly concerns conservatives who have a deep respect for the Constitution and the principles on which it is based.

Good job, House Republicans.

Republicans take majority in House - FINALLY!

In an emotionally charged moment during the opening act of the 112th Congress on Wednesday, a teary-eyed John Boehner took the gavel from Nancy Pelosi, officially becoming the 61st House speaker.

In his speech to fellow lawmakers, the Ohio Republican vowed to give the government back to the people, renew focus on the Constitution and provide transparency, honesty and accountability.

Obama - you are no Reagan

It is hard to know where to start in reaction to this misguided effort that is clearly a complete lack understanding about one of the greatest Presidents in our history.  President Reagan was a visionary, a true leader, and the most important "secret" to his success was that HE WAS RIGHT!  He was an unbending conservative who clearly articulated this vision to the American people and to the world.  He believed in individual liberty and small government.  He NEVER would have supported Cap and Trade, he never travelled around the world apologizing for American exceptionalism like Obama did, and he NEVER under any circumstances would have supporting Obamacare.  EVER!!!  In fact, listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRdLpem-AAs

Obama - you are no Reagan and you never will be.  You are not the man that he was, you don't have the integrity that he had, you don't have his ideals or his guts.   So, study up.  But, you clearly don't understand.  It wasn't a gimmick or a publicity stunt.  Reagan's impact on and contribution to American exceptionalism and liberty was due to his core belief system of solid, unapologetic conservatism.

Bring on the spending cuts!

Okay, so we only have the House and not the Senate.  So, the President is still who the President is.  But, that does not mean that the House should not push forward with plans to cut spending and vote to repeal Obamacare.  Admittedly, there will be great opposition in the Senate and the President will not sign into law, but it will crystallize the debate over the next two years and continue to show the difference between conservatives and liberals.  It will frame the Presidential debate.  And, it shows that Republicans know how to govern.

So, go forward, Conservatives!

Happy New Year!

What an exciting year ahead of us!  Republicans have control of the House.  The Republican presidential hopefuls will start to make their case and conservatives will start to weed out those that are real, viable contenders and those who aren't. The Tea Party has become a strong voice in American politics - a voice that will be heard and a good 1/3 of Americans identify with this movement proving the Tea Party to be mainstream and not a fringe group.

Conservatives are alive and kicking and we have a real chance to move this country the right direction!
