I am proud of my Alma mater for their decision to suspend one of the their key players from playing basketball at the height of a successful season. BYU has suspended Brandon Davies from the team after he admitted to breaking the school's Honor Code. In doing so, BYU potentially has given up its opportunity of what could have been the most successful post-season in school history.
I'm also excited about much of the reaction. While many don't understand the Honor Code, people do seem to respect BYU's decision for the most part. This is real integrity, something we don't see very often. We have so many different voices out there declaring what is right, but few that are willing to do so at the sacrifice of so much. BYU might have given up a championship and all of the prestige that comes with it.
Great job, BYU!
