Senator Hatch had an uncomfortable moment at CPAC today when he was appearing on a panel discussion to promote the balanced budget amendment. Senator Hatch has proposed such an amendment many times in Congress over the years and has never been able to get the votes necessary. Today, he discussed again the need to pass this amendment. When the floor was opened to questions, a CPAC participant asked him how we could possibly trust him given that he voted for TARP. There were instant boos and cheers to that question.
